Will Buxton is a motorsport journalist, presenter, and commentor, who is currently the lead commentator for Fox Sports’ coverage of the IndyCar Series.
He is best known in the UK for his coverage of Formula One with the Formula One Group from 2018-2024.
Will Buxton’s love for motorsport started early, and he wrote for GrandPrix.com whilst he was studying politics at University. Upon graduating he joined the official Formula 1 Magazine, working as a staff writer until it closed two years later, at which point he went freelance.
In 2005 he became the press officer for the inaugural GP2 Series, before being promoted to Director of Communications. In 2008 he became editor of the GPWeek virtual magazine.

He started providing live commentary in 2009, initially for the GP2 Series and GP2 Asia Series. This kickstarted a media career that saw him present for American motorsports channel Speed, Fox Sports, and NBC Sports, covering F1 and the IndyCar Series.
He started to focus specifically on Formula 1 in 2018, becoming their first digital presenter, hosting a number of features on F1 TV and their official YouTube channel. He returned to cover IndyCar in 2025 for Fox Sports.
He has also appeared on television programmes and films, including Formula 1: Drive to Survive (2019-present), and the blockbuster movie F1 (2025)
In early 2026 he started the F1 podcast Up to Speed co-hosting with David Coultard, Naomi Schiff, and Jolie Sharpe. Together, the foursome provide insights, real-time reactions, interviews, and behind-the-scenes insight.
Will has released a couple of motorsport-related books, including:
