Simon Morris is arguably one of the most successful creative entrepreneurs in the UK. For over a decade, Simon Morris has worked at Amazon, first as a Director of Advertising, then Global Creative Director, and now Chief Creative Officer, with his leadership elevating the brand to new heights.
He is the current Chairman of the award-winning producers Object Studios, the AI-driven creative optimisation business DiO, and for Novel, the UK’s leading podcast-to-streaming creator. In 2023 he was named as a Governor of the Museum of London.
Simon Morris is the mastermind behind several projects, including the iconic Alexa Super Bowl campaign, which captured global acclaim.
Simon’s experience includes launching Sega in his territory, making Sonic the Hedgehog a household name, managing the largest software sales for Sonic 2, and generating over £1 billion in revenue thanks to his campaigns – an achievement which saw him inducted into the UK Marketing Hall of Fame.
Simon Morris’ career started in the gaming world, playing a pivotal role at Sega and contributing to the groundbreaking success of Sonic the Hedgehog and its sequels. This passion for storytelling continued into the media industry during his time at Sky, Autonomy, and Ginger TV Production, developing high-impact marketing strategies.
Simon Morris work in the media and advertising industries has seen him nominated for three Emmy awards for work including his 2020 Christmas advert ‘Ballerina’ and the aforementioned Alexa Super Bowl campaign. He also received a letter of commendation from the Vatican for his 2016 Christmas Amazon advertisement.
In 2004, he co-founded LOVEFiLM, a pioneering video rental and streaming service that would go on to serve as the foundation for the now popular Amazon Prime Video platform. This entrepreneurial spirit saw him co-found online football resource Football 365 – and its sister brands Rugby 365 and Music 365 – and become a co-founding investor of Graze. His career has also seen him advise leading global brands including pet food Tails and toy LEGO.
