Now firmly established as one of the most recognised and respected sports commentators, primarily as a lead commentator on BBC MOTD, Simon also works for BT Sport, working on the European Football Show on Sunday nights.
Simon is not limited solely to television, he can also be heard commentating on BBC Radio Five Live.
Joining the BBC full time after graduating in 1990, Simon has never looked back and has established himself as one of the BBC’s most recognised and trusted voices.
In 2013, Simon became BBC TV’s voice of cycling, a fitting role to someone who first covered the Tour de France in 1994, and who now covers all TV cycling events for the BBC, indulging one of his greatest passions.
Simon was on hand to offer expert analytic commentary across the cycling events of the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2016 Rio Olympics.
A keen sportsman and a diverse broadcaster, Simon has developed a deep understanding of sports outside of football and cycling and is trusted to deliver the pinnacle events in international sport.
