Sacha Romanovitch OBE made history as the first female CEO of a major accounting firm in the UK when she took the helm at Grant Thornton UK, running a ÂŁ500m business with over 5,000 employees.
Known for her leadership and radical thinking, her tenure was marked by efforts to transform the firm into a modern business characterises by personal development, responsibility, collaboration, and diversity.

Sacha Romanovitch OBE holds a range of qualifications, including two honorary doctorates and an honorary fellowship, a Master’s in chemistry from the University of Oxford, is a Fellow of the ICAEW and a certified NLP Practitioner.
Her business journey began when she joined Grant Thornton as an accountant in 1990, where she stayed for over 25 years! Within a decade she had become a partner, and driven by her passion for talent development, she became the first board member responsible for people and culture. She spent two years as a managing partner before being made CEO in 2015, and sat on the global board with an oversight of 40,000 people in 140 countries.

In her leadership roles, she aimed to dismantle obstacles within the organisation and the broader professional services sector, which often resisted change. Central to her approach was the understanding the values of a business and its people and their role in society.
In her final year as CEO, she was ranked in the Top 50 CEOs in the Glassdoor index, just two places behind Apples Tim Cook, with a 94% employee rating. Whilst Sacha worked there, the firm was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise and a top ranking on the UK Social Mobility Index.
After leaving Grant Thornton, she sat as CEO of Fair4All Finance for five years, leading a team to drive change in awareness and access to affordable credit, savings, and insurance to help build financial resilience for vulnerable consumers.
She is currently the CEO of SVR Consultancy and co-chair of their Inclusive Economy Partnership convened by the Cabinet Office; non-executive director of LeapFrog Investments; and non-executive director of the Association of British Insurers.
With over 35 years of experience in finance, consulting, and coaching, Sacha has a proven track record of transforming businesses for a sustainable future, and it is this experience that makes her such a formidable and passionate keynote speaker. She has worked with businesses, policy makers, governments and the voluntary sector to address key systemic challenges and opportunities on topics such as mental health, transitions to work, leadership, and inclusive growth.
