Ryan Thomas made his on-screen debut aged 16 when he joined the ITV soap Coronation Street, as Jason Grimshaw. Spending 16 years on the show, fans fell in love with his endearing and likeable character.

After leaving the soap in 2016, he starred in the Australian show Neighbours (2018), and acted on stage in pantomime renditions of Peter Pan and Cinderella. In 2021, he announced he had lost his love for acting and announced he would be retiring from the profession, although he would continue to make television appearances.

His work on screen has seen him nominated for a number of industry awards, including the Best-On-Screen Partnership at the 2007 British Soap Awards, Best Couple at the Inside Soap Awards 2007, Best Affair at the 2015 Inside Soap Awards, and Best Soap Actor at the 2016 TV Choice Awards. He has also been nominated for ‘Sexiest Male’ at the Inside Soap Awards, Digital Spy Soap Awards, and British Soap Awards in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2014!

Ryan has made guest appearances on several panel, reality, and competition shows, including Celebrity Island With Bear Grylls (2017), Jeremy Vine (2018), Celebrity Catchphrase (2020), This Morning (2005-20), Celebrity Masterchef (2022), The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show (2023), and Loose Women (2021-24).

In 2018, Ryan appeared on the 22nd series of Celebrity Big Brother, eventually going on to win the show, which reached a record-breaking viewing figure for the programme. He also won ITV’s Dancing on Ice (2024) with his professional ice skating partner Amani Fancy.

In 2020, along with his brothers Adam and Scott, and their late father Dougie, Ryan starred in the ITV show Absolutely India: Mancs in Mumbai, which explored the bond the three brothers had with their father and their heritage. He also co-hosts the Mancs on the Mic podcast with his brothers where they discuss their childhood memories and embarrassing moments.

Ryan has worked with brands including Hello Fresh, PG Tips, Old El Paso, McDonalds, Nerf, Sky, Soda Stream, and Water Wipes.
