Richard Dinan, born in 1986, is a British entrepreneur, author, and former reality television personality.
He is best known for founding Pulsar Fusion, a company dedicated to developing nuclear fusion-based propulsion technology for space exploration.
Beyond his entrepreneurial ventures, Richard has made notable appearances on the E4 reality series Made in Chelsea, where he showcased his passion for innovation and technology.
Richard is a sought-after speaker renowned for his expertise in nuclear fusion, space propulsion, and entrepreneurship. As the founder and CEO of Pulsar Fusion, he has been at the forefront of developing nuclear fusion-powered propulsion systems for space exploration.
Richard Dinan is the grandson of Edward Curzon, 6th Earl Howe, and is related to Cressida Bonas, a former girlfriend of Prince Harry. He grew up in Penn, Buckinghamshire, and attended St Edward’s School, Oxford, before leaving at age 16 to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions. This journey began at the age of 16 when he launched a pre-paid credit card business while working as an assistant gunsmith at Holland & Holland in London.
At 25, he co-founded IonCore Technologies, a manufacturing company credited with designing and supplying rapid prototyping facilities to Airbus and other European aerospace giants.
In 2013 he co-founded Applied Fusion Systems with physicist James Lambert to help develop nuclear reactors. Amazingly, their first project was to create a spherical tokamak based on the Mega Ampere Spherical Tokamak.
He later founded Senturion, a wearable tech company that became an official sponsor of the Lotus F1 team in 2015.

Over the last decade, he has devoted his time to the study of thermonuclear physics, investing in his own training and tuition in the science and technology fields. The result, in 2014, was the development and name change of Applied Fusion Systems to Pulsar Fusion, now a green alternative to fossil fuels and traditional nuclear fission powerplants.
Over the past 10 years, Richard has built a fusion reactor in Milton Keynes, and have begun to build nuclear fusion-powered rocket thrusters, and hybrid rocket engines for space travel.
He also guest lectures on Imperial College’s MSc Business Development course.
Richard gained public attention as a cast member of the E4 reality series Made in Chelsea. He appeared in the show during its fifth and tenth series, which aired in 2012 and 2015, respectively. Unlike many of his co-stars, Richard’s appearances focused more on his business ventures and technological interests rather than personal drama, highlighting his passion for innovation and entrepreneurship.
He is the author of The Fusion Age: Modern Nuclear Fusion Reactors, published in 2017. This book serves as a practical guide to modern tokamak reactors, aiming to make complex nuclear fusion concepts accessible to non-physicists. It covers the history of fusion reactors and the workings of tokamaks, providing insights into the potential of fusion energy. The motivation behind the book is to demystify the science around fusion technology and to answer questions about why fusion is important and timely.
Richard is a highly popular speaker and has participated in various speaking engagements, sharing his insights on innovation and entrepreneurship.
Richard’s speaking topics encompass a broad spectrum of subjects, including:
– Nuclear Fusion and Advanced Propulsion: Discussing the future of energy and propulsion through nuclear fusion technologies.
– Space Exploration and Innovation: Exploring the challenges and advancements in space travel and exploration.
Entrepreneurship and Business Development: Sharing insights on starting and scaling innovative ventures in high-tech industries.
