Poppy Valentine is a Lifestyle Presenter and Health Communications Trainer with over 13 years’ experience across broadcast, corporate media & live events, including campaigns and conferences with Bayer, AstraZeneca, Bosch, Audible, and the NHS.
As the co-host of Health Matters – Pop & Doc alongside Dr Kishan Rees for Bayer, Poppy helps bring medical conversations to life through warmth, curiosity, and clarity — translating science into human stories that resonate with both professionals and the public. She has delivered keynote sessions and workshops for Asthma & Lung UK, the Primary Care Diabetes & Obesity Society (PCDOS), and multiple NHS organisations, addressing both healthcare professionals and patient communities.
Beyond media, Poppy Valentine is an advocate for hormone and respiratory health. After being ventilated four times due to peri-menstrual asthma, she shared her story at the Palace of Westminster, addressing MPs, including Nadhim Zahawi, on health inequalities in the UK. Her advocacy has been featured by BBC, ITV, The Express, The Daily Mail, and The New Statesman, where she continues to raise awareness and drive conversations around women’s health, early intervention, and communication-led care.

Her sessions explore how early, empathetic communication between patient and doctor can prevent crisis, build trust, and improve outcomes—particularly in under-recognised or hormone-linked conditions. Drawing on both lived experience and extensive presenting expertise, Poppy brings a fresh, human-centred approach to healthcare education that resonates deeply with clinical audiences. Her work focuses on enhancing collaboration between patients and clinicians, examining how effective communication, empathy, and shared understanding can significantly impact health outcomes.
Key themes in her talks include:
Beyond the Symptoms: What Stories Reveal in Primary Care – How patient narratives can highlight patterns and insights that clinical data alone may overlook.
Collaboration in Care: Patient–Doctor Conversations – How partnership, active listening, and shared context can transform complexity into opportunities for early intervention.
Early Intervention: The Human Factors – A reflective exploration of the behavioural, emotional, and systemic influences that shape when and how people seek help.
Whether speaking to new GPs or multidisciplinary teams, Poppy Valentine aims to inspire thoughtful, patient-centred practice that supports better outcomes for both clinicians and the communities they serve.
In 2025, Poppy featured in Health, Matters! Episode 1: Power to the Patient, Dr Ambarish Pandey. Watch the episode here.
