Polly is an award-winning radio DJ and event host, who currently presents her weekend afternoon show on Radio X – her Saturday and Sunday shows are audience winners with her infectious Welsh charm and knowledge of guitar music.
Polly is one of the lead reporters on Sky Sports and their Darts coverage and you’ll see her every Christmas and New Year at Ally Pally, getting in the thick of it with the darts community.
The ‘live’ environment is where Polly is in her element, whether that’s a Q&A with Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury or hosting live music events for Ladbrokes Live and NME. Born and bred in Cardiff, she’s a natural, where nothing phases her, whether she is in front of a stadium full of people or presenting social media coverage for global brands.
Before she was a sports presenter, Wales-born Polly James competed in athletics for Wales and GB Juniors at an underage level.

Polly’s professional career started at community radio stations like Afan FM and Bridge FM. After working for Nation Radio Wales, she was picked up for national stations, including Absolute Radio and Capital.
During Capital’s restructuring in 2019, her show was cancelled and she moved to Radio X – a move that saw her nominated for Breakfast Show of the Year.
Across her broadcasting career, she has covered sports including boxing, darts, football, and rugby, and she has presented for Unibet on social media.
Polly’s radio programmes consistently attract strong listening numbers, with audience members loving her infectious Welsh charm, quit wit, and knowledge. This has led her to host Q&As with sport stars Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua and hosted major events for brands such as NME and Ladbrokes Live.
She is a popular choice to host live events, interview celebrities, and connect with any audiences, whether she’s presenting to a packed stadium or appearing on social media lives.
