Pien Meulensteen is a presenter, reporter and the lead female commentator on both Sky Sports and ITV Sport – spanning the Premier League, EFL and the WSL, including both men’s and women’s international tournaments. She is recognised as one of the most exciting sports presenters and commentators in the UK and she is fast becoming one of the most respected voices and faces in the industry.
At just 28, she made history as the youngest and first ever female to call a live Premier League game on Sky Sports.
Outside of her broadcasting work, Pien is building up a reputation as a corporate speaker and event host. She has already work with brands including Enterprise, Fuel10K, and Mastercard, and has collaborated with major brands in the fashion, fitness, and wellness spaces, such as Boots, Canada Goose, and Lululemon.
Born in the Netherlands, and fluent in both English and Dutch, Pien Meulensteen began her broadcasting career at BBC Manchester whilst studying broadcast journalism at the University of Salford.
Pien broadcasting and commentary work covers the FIFA World Cup, FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Premier League, and the Women’s Super League. She has worked for the BBC, CBS, Sky Sports, and Dutch channel Ziggo Sport. She has provided commentary for the BBC’s flagship show Match of the Day, and was the first journalist to interview the Dutch coach Erik ten Hag in England after he took over coaching Manchester United.
In just a few years, Pien has set a high bar in broadcasting, becoming the first female to commentator on a live Premier League match, as well as her role as the lead female commentator for major international broadcasters. Her rise to the top has even been marked by the British Sports Journalism Awards, who named her ‘One to Watch – On Air’ in 2023.
During the 2025/26 season, she has been a regular face presenting and reporting across both men’s and women’s football on Sky Sports.
