“AI is not just a technological leap; it’s a catalyst for reshaping humanity’s story, blurring the lines between the possible and the unimaginable.” – Nina Schick
Nina Schick is a globally recognised expert on AI, geopolitics, and power. She has been at the forefront of how AI is reshaping global dominance, not just in business, but in military strategy, economic infrastructure, and state power.
She was among the first to predict the societal impact of AI-generated content (Deepfakes, 2020) and now leads the conversation on Industrial Intelligence – the idea that AI is not just a software revolution, but a physical, geopolitical, and industrial transformation.
Nina Schick has advised and worked with global leaders including NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and President Joe Biden. Nina helped shape EU policy for nearly a decade. Now she is a trusted advisor to frontier AI firms and tech firms, including Synthesia, Qlik and Truepic.
Nina is a sought-after speaker at Davos, CES, WebSummit, CogX, TEDx, and regularly appears in MIT Tech Review, WIRED, TIME, and Bloomberg.
Half Nepalese, half German, Nina Schick speaks seven languages and has worked across Europe, Asia, and North America. Now based in the US, Nina is focused on how AI will reshape global power in the 21st century.
Her career has involved working across industries for lots of big organisations. Politically, she has worked as a political advisor, a political commentator for CNN, a policy research assistant, a policy researcher, a communications director, and associate director.
She has worked with Adrian Sanders MP, BBC Milbank, The Sunday Times, SPIEGEL International, the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, and Open Europe. Nina has specifically worked on policy-changing campaigns, such as the UK’s Brexit referendum, and on Emmanuel Macron’s 2017 presidential bid in France. She has advised former President Joe Biden on how AI is affecting geopolitics, as well as former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
In 2021, she became an advisor for Truepic, a start-up pioneering the authentication of digital media, which has been recognised twice as Time magazine’s invention of the year. Alongside this, she is an advisor for Synthesia, an AI-video generation platform valued at over $2 billion.
In 2018, Nina founded Tamang Ventures, working with innovators and leaders on how to understand and prepare for ‘industrial intelligence’. She is CEO and analyst on AI, geopolitics, and power.
In 2020, she published her book Deepfakes, which was the first to explore the societal impact of generative AI. Her research – industrialising intelligence – argues that AI is not just a software revolution, but an industrial revolution, shaping global power as profoundly as past technological shifts.
Nina’s work focuses on three critical areas:
AI as Hard Power – how AI is the next arms race, reshaping national security and military strategy.
The AI energy and computer war – how AI’s physical infrastructure (chips, data centres, energy) is creating new geopolitical tension.
The Industrialisation of Intelligence – why AI is the next industrial revolution and how governments, businesses, and economies will need to adapt.

NINA SCHICK ON: AI as Hard Power: The Next Global Arms Race: AI is no longer just software, it’s a strategic weapon. The U.S, China, and Russia are in an AI arms race that will define the next century. From AI-powered cyber warfare to autonomous weapons, Nina explores how AI is redefining military dominance and the future of global security.
NINA SCHICK ON: The Industrialisation of Intelligence: The New Age of AI Power: AI is an industrial revolution that demands energy, infrastructure, and compute at an unprecedented scale. Data centres, chips, and energy grids are now as strategically important as oil pipelines. Nina explains how industrial intelligence is the real battleground for AI supremacy.
NINA SCHICK ON: The AI Compute War: How the Battle for Chips and Data Centres Will Shape Global Power: Semiconductors, data centres, and GPUs are the new weapons of power. With Nvidia controlling 95% of AI compute and Chine accelerating domestic chip production, we are entering a new era of AI-driven geopolitics: who owns the compute, wins the future.
NINA SCHICK ON: AI and the Energy Crisis: The Collision of AI and the Global Grid: AI is the most energy-hungry technology in history; data centres already consume more energy than entire countries, and by 2030, it’s predicted that AI will account for 20% of global electricity demand. Nina explores why AI is an energy wildcard, how it will reshape global energy policy, and whether nuclear power is the only realistic solution.
NINA SCHICK ON: AI, NATO, and the Future of Defense: AI is revolutionising military strategy, intelligence, and cyberwarfare, but is NATO ready? As a former advisor to NATO’s Secretary General, Nina breaks down how AI will shape the next era of defense alliances.
NINA SCHICK ON: AI, Democracy, and Authoritarianism: Who Wins the Future?: AI is the ultimate force multiplier for democracies and autocracies. China is racing ahead with state-controlled AI, while the West debates regulation. Will AI entrench authoritarianism, or can democracies still lead?
NINA SCHICK ON: AI and the Future of Economic Power: AI is not just for the tech sector, it will redefine the global economy. From financial markets to industrial policy, AI’s disruption will create winners and losers. Which economies will dominate the next phase of AI-driven growth?
NINA SCHICK ON: AI, China, and the New Tech Cold War: How Tariffs and Trade Wars are Reshaping Industrial Intelligence: The US-Chine tech war is no longer just about semiconductors, it’s about control over the entire AI supply chain. Tariffs, export controls, and investment bans are reshaping the future of AI infrastructure, from chips to energy grids. How will these escalating tensions impact the global AI economy? Nina explores the geopolitical and economic consequences of the AI trade war and what it means for governments, businesses, and investors.
