Nick Kwek is the host of the Food TV series Discovering The World’s Table, broadcasting on BBC One, BBC News, BBC World News and BBC iPlayer.

This global BBC TV show sees Nick gobble his way around the world, meeting famous chefs and emerging talents in a country’s culinary industry.

Nick is also a regular face on BBC Breakfast as well as the BBC’s Travel Show, filming Istanbul’s burgeoning arts festival, at America’s SXSW expo in Texas, and uncovering the spicy origins of Haggis in his native Scotland.

Nick has been shortlisted for two TASTE Awards – recognised as the Oscars of food television- for his documentary about Malaysia’s indigenous food scene.

From high-tech orchards in Japan, to Burger-flipping robots in California, to AI-assisted Pepper-pickers in Australia – he has travelled the world documenting new ideas and issues facing our farms, restaurants, and food and drink producers.

Off-camera, Nick writes for several major publications, including BBC Travel, The Scotsman, The Taste, wine magazine Club Oenologique, and serves as a judge for the Royal Television Society Awards, among others. His recipes were recently published in the cookbook Land, Sea and Hills.

Outside of the BBC, Nick Kwek has produced international TV food series Meus’s Mustard for Belgian network VRT, as well as regional Food Festival Films.

An accomplished speaker, Nick has been a regular Host of Scotland’s annual AI Summit for several years, and has chaired and hosted at iconic expos and conferences like SXSW, SXSW Sydney, SXSW London, CES, and IFA – the world’s biggest technology conference.

Nick confidently moderates panels, chairs sessions, MCs and Hosts entire multi-day expos, and conducts in-depth one-on-one fireside chats.

Nick has also hosted onstage at the Royal Television Society annual convention in Cambridge, at King’s College London, and at World Travel Market, as well as reporting from MWC, GITEX, CEATEC, and many other international trade shows.

An accomplished Live Events Speaker, Nick has hosted at major expos such as World Travel Market on behalf of BBC Studios, discussing his own culinary journey growing up in his family’s Southeast Asian restaurant in Scotland.

He’s hosted live cook-alongs onstage with celebrity chefs for the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival, and recently graced the stage of ScotHot at the SECC in Glasgow.

Nick has served as a judge for the Scottish Baker of the Year Awards and the Royal Television Society. He is an official Ambassador of the Kingdom of Fife, Scotland.
