Mo Jannah is a BAFTA-nominated Welsh presenter, producer, and creative entrepreneur whose career bridges broadcast television, wellbeing, and immersive arts. As one of the mediation experts and on-screen talent featured on ‘Wild Reckoning’a new 16-part series co-commissioned by BBC Daytime and BBC Cymru Wales, fronted by Bear Grylls. He continues to champion human connection and personal storytelling set against Wales’s striking landscapes.
Mo’s career path is as unconventional as it is inspiring. A working-class Black man from South Wales, he began his professional life supporting offenders in prisons across the region, developing groundbreaking interventions later adopted by the national serious crime unit to help divert young people from criminal pathways. His empathy-driven approach and communication skills became the foundation for his later success in television and media.

His TV breakthrough came in 2017 through the It’s My Shout scheme, where his self-titled observational documentary Mo’s World aired on BBC Two.
This launch marked the beginning of a diverse portfolio that includes presenting and producing across BBC factual and daytime programmes. Widely recognised as an “ideas man,” Mo’s storytelling instincts and extensive cross-sector network have helped develop several successful broadcast formats, amplifying underrepresented voices and fresh perspectives across national and regional television.
He also serves as a Wellbeing Facilitator within the TV and film industry, supporting healthier creative environments through programmes backed by Bectu and UK television charities.
Working for the Welsh-language channel S4C, Mo has a basic understanding of Welsh. Although not yet fluent, he is actively working towards becoming confident enough to present in Welsh in the near future.
Expanding beyond traditional media, Mo launched MMY Reality in 2025 following two years of research into empathy-led virtual reality design. The company pioneers immersive storytelling in the heritage and cultural sectors, creating first-person VR experiences that bring audiences inside real stories, transforming them from passive viewers into active participants. His work bridges museums, archives, and communities through technology that preserves identity, belonging, and lived experience.
Mo’s first major immersive installation was a collaboration between the Welsh Government and the National Museum of Wales, which blends gallery art with narrative film craft. Building on its success, he is now developing Shared Realities: The Troubles in First Person, an international heritage project that uses VR to capture and connect personal memories from both sides of Northern Ireland’s conflict. The work aims to deepen empathy and understanding across generations, showing how immersive media can support reconciliation and peacebuilding.
Mo has also been at the forefront of innovative projects with Media Cymru, particularly focusing on the M.M.Y Reality (Me, Mine & Your Reality) initiative. This project explores the intersection of immersive technology and storytelling, showcasing collaborations with notable organisations such as the BBC, S4C, and National Museums Wales. Working alongside the PDR design agency, Mo has developed several prototypes that highlight the potential applications of immersive technology in enhancing user experiences and engagement.
Mo holds a Research Fellowship with Amgueddfa Cymru National Museum Wales, where his research explores how immersive technology can transform museum engagement.

Throughout his career, Mo has consistently championed diversity, innovation, and humanity in storytelling, whether through a BBC documentary lens, a VR headset, or a museum installation. His work invites audiences not just to see stories, but to step inside them.
