Millie Knight is one of Great Britain’s most decorated Paralympic skiers. Losing her eyesight before the age of six, Millie started working with Disability Snowsports UK and learnt how to ski with a guide.
Since 2012, Millie has won almost 100 medals across various championships and was nominated for The Times’ Young Sportswoman of the Year, and BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.
Now a prominent keynote speaker, Millie inspires audiences of all sizes on topics including sports, motivation, overcoming obstacles, and building a winning mindset.
Background
When Millie Knight was just one year old, her right eye was infected, and her sight was lost. Five years later, the same happened to her left eye, and she was left blind. This could have quickly stopped any love for the sport, but she didn’t let it get to her. As a self-confessed obsessive over skiing, she contacted Disability Snowsports UK for advice on being a disabled skier. She was then invited to join the British Disabled Ski Team Development Squad in 2011 and took part in her first big race in 2012 with her mother as her guide. As she progressed, she started working with Brett Wild from the Royal Navy as her guide.

Paralympian and Sports Coaching
She made her Paralympics debut in 2014 at just age 15, becoming the youngest GP Paralympic competitor ever, at the time. She then competed at the 2018 Paralympics, winning two silver medals and a bronze, and again in Beijing 2022, bringing home a bronze medal.
Since her first race in 2012, she has won an incredible amount of gold medals, including 14 at the World Cup, two at the World Championships, five at the Europa Cup, three at the British Championships, eight at the NorAm races, and 12 at the IPC Alpine Skiing (now known as the Para Alpine Skiing).
In addition to professional competition, Millie has been working as a personal trainer and sports massage therapist since 2019 and is now completing a degree in Sport, Fitness, and Coaching.

Her prominence at the Paralympics has led her to appear on several popular television programmes, including Breakfast (2017), The Last Leg (2018), and Pilgrimage (2023).
In June 2025, Millie was hired through Great British Speakers by Newmedica in June 2025. Here’s some of the feedback we got after her session:
Millie was really refreshing and engaging – the way she dropped in some extraordinary things she’s done like they were just another thing she did makes me think she has so much more she could blow us away with.
Millie was fantastic and an overall fantastic addition to the day.
I absolutely loved the guest speaker, Millie was super engaging and interesting and bought loads of energy to the room.
Millie’s talk was very inspiring.
The whole event was excellent but Millie Knight was incredible.
I was very moved by Millie’s presentation. That will stay with me for a long time to come.
I thought Millie was excellent, and obviously her story had relevant links to Newmedicas’s purpose. I think the guest speaker session would work well at other events.
