Midge Ure
Scottish musician James “Midge” Ure had huge success in the 70’s and 80’s as a member of Silk, Thin Lizzy and Ultravox. He also co-wrote and produced, ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?‘ with Bob Geldof, and was co-organiser of Band-Aid, Live Aid and Live 8.

More About Midge Ure
After the success of Band-Aid, Ure and Geldof founded the Band-Aid Trust, of which Ure is an active trustee to this day, and co-organised the hugely successful Band Aid, Live Aid and Live 8 concerts in an attempt to raise money for anti-poverty efforts.
Today, Ure is an advocate for anti-poverty, a keen campaigner and activist. Ure is also an ambassador for Save the Children and has visited Ethiopia and Sierra Leone to provide relief and support and promote children’s rights.
Over his career, Midge has received a number of awards, including Ivor Novello, Grammy and BASCAP awards. He was also awarded an OBE in 2005 for his services to music and charity.
