I first met Michael Caulfield when I was still playing at Middlesbrough. As is his way, an enjoyable chat led to more inquisitive conversations and we’ve continued those to this day in a quest for constant improvement and knowledge, I think on both sides. He simplifies sport, understands the changing room and connects with players and coaches from all backgrounds. If you only want science, data and measures, look elsewhere. If you want someone who can make sense of all the clutter that exists in the minds of all athletes and coaches, and help them focus on performance, then give Mike a ring!
Sir Gareth Southgate, Former England Manager
Michael is a master of his profession. I have known him for twenty five years and over that time, he has been a constant support and trusted friend too. He is far more than a sports psychologist, he is also a great leader and team player and would recommend him to any ambitious team or individual.
Sir A.P. McCoy, 20x Champion Jockey and Sports Personality of the Year
Corky is very special. He unclutters your brain with rare empathy, clarity and humour, leaving you with a smile on your face and a spring in your step.
Rory Bremner, Impressionist and Comedian
Michael has a refreshing approach and builds trust easily. He’s been a big part of the Club, and has had a wide reaching influence across both the playing staff and our management group.
Giles White, Director of Cricket at Hampshire CCC
Michael has always been a fantastic listening aid to me when times have been tough. He understands me as a person first and foremost and always reminds me of what I’ve achieved in my long career and always makes me believe I can go out and perform when under pressure.
Liam Dawson, Hampshire and England Cricketer
When life gets tough, when challenges become too stressful to manage or a solution seems impossible to find, Corky is the man to turn to. With a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed, he can help bring out the best in you and your team.
Clare Balding, Award-Winning Television Presenter, Author and Journalist
Michael is one of the most inspiring people I’ve met in 32 years in the sports media: a man of outstanding skill, integrity and insight. He understands the human element that underpins performance and always places the person first in his work. You’d always want him on your team.
Paul Hayward, Senior Sports Writer and Contributing Editor at The Observer
Michael was a constant presence with our group, often on the back of the bus , quietly listening, supporting, and believing in us. His guidance helped build confidence and resilience, and his impact will always stay with me, in sport and beyond.
Andrew Balbirnie, Captain of Ireland Test Team and Former Captain of the Ireland ODI and T20 Team
I’ve known Michael for 20 years and he’s as warm, supportive, creative and dynamic as anybody I’ve met in sport. Given he has such a wonderful way with words, it’ll come as no surprise that he’s also a superb broadcaster who has mastered the art of taking his wealth of knowledge, breaking it down and tailoring it to the ears and eyes of any audience. There’s no better way to assess someone in Michael’s field than by listening to those who shout his name, unprompted. I was in the England camp at Euro 2024 and it was lovely to see Ivan Toney immediately wax lyrical about Michael when asked about his biggest influences.
