Michael Akadiri is a fast-rising multi award-winning comedian and junior doctor. His natural charm and cheeky style has already made an impact on the UK comedy scene.
A junior doctor, Michael is currently on a sabbatical from his surgical training to pursue his burgeoning comedy career. His medical background has meant he is in demand as a health commentator, and has appeared on BBC 2 and Times Radio.
Michael Akadiri’s TV career has already seen him feature on Comedy Central’s Comedy Central LIVE, ITV’s The Stand Up Sketch Show, and Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer. He has also appeared on Capital Xtra’s breakfast show, BBC Radio 4 Extra’s Comedy Club, BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends, and Radio 4’s ‘Fred at the Stand’.
In partnership with comedians Darran Griffiths and Kazeem Jamal, Michael hosts the Late Nights & Wet Wipes podcast, looking at parenting topics including swearing, protecting your child from violence, private schools, sibling squabbles, food, and single parenting.
He has collaborated with Ladbible UK, Channel 4, and on Project Giving Back, who help fund some of the gardens shown at the Chelsea Flower Show.
His comedy career really took off in 2022, when his show ‘No Scrubs’ sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, earning him a nomination for the Biggest Award in Comedy. He has since put on a successful UK-wide tour. He has performed at venues such as Glee Club, the Comedy Store, and Komedia.
Michael is a well sought after corporate act, either performing some of his comic material, or hosting events, award ceremonies, and health panellist discussions.
Previous clients include Apple UK, NHS England, and Spotify UK.
