Matthew began his career working for a local newspaper after graduating from Exeter University with a degree in English and Drama. By the age of 26, Matthew was working at The Sun’s ‘Bizarre’ showbiz desk. Two years later, he left The Sun to help develop a new programme for SKY with Richard Littlejohn. It was here that Matthew gained his first television role. Once the show finished a year later, Fleet Street offered Matthew a three-month stint on the Today newspaper.
During his career, Matthew has also worked for The Mirror, featured GMTV’s TV Critic (ITV) and reported for Rich and Famous (ITV). He has also interviewed Cher, Madonna, Elizabeth Taylor, Elton John and Gwyneth Paltrow, just to name a few and worked for GMTV as the show’s TV critic. He has also voiced radio, hosting his own Friday night show, The Weekender on BBC Radio 2. The show features all the latest topical developments in the world of arts and entertainment. He also presents the music show The Freak Zone on BBC Radio 6. Matthew is available for general hosting and corporate or live events.
