As a stand-up comedian, Matthew Highton has played festivals around the world, including Edinburgh, Adelaide, Glastonbury, and Latitude. He is also part of the Weirdos Collective, a group of “oddballs” who have won a number of comedy awards.

He has taken several of his shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, debuting in 2010. Along with his “Weirdos” group, he co-wrote and directed their 2013 alternative Christmas Panto ‘The Colonel’, as well as their 2014 short ‘A Christmas Tail’. Their performances won him the 2018 Chortle Award for Event of the Year.

Alongside his comedy work, Matt has made short films and sketches for festivals and television, for the BBC, Channel 4, The Beano, Cartoon Network, and Movember. He created the online sketch show ‘The Thinking Shower’, made his first short film Santageddon (2014), and has collaborated with fellow Weirdo Joz Norris on a Resonance FM Radio Show.

He has also been writing for Channel 4’s Mashed for a while, with his videos amassing over a million views each!
