Larry Lamb is a well-known British actor and presenter, with a career spanning several decades. He is best known for his acting roles on EastEnders and Gavin and Stacey.

Larry Lamb has a bulging CV of popular television credits, including The New Avengers (1977), Superman (1977), The Professionals (1980), Triangle (1981-83), Lovejoy (1992), A Touch of Frost (1995), Taggart (1999), Casualty (1999), Midsomer Murders (2001), The Bill (2004-05), Spooks (2006), Blood: The Last Vampire (2009), New Tricks (2015), and The Inheritance (2023).
Larry is probably best known for his role as Mick Shipman – Gavin’s father – in the much-loved programme Gavin & Stacey. He played the role between 2007 and 2010, returning for a Christmas special in 2019 and again for the show finale in 2024.
In 2008, Larry began playing Archie Mitchell in EastEnders, leaving the role in 2009, but returning in the same year, staying until the Christmas episode. Larry won the award for Best Villain at the 2010 British Soap Awards.

In 2014, Larry took part in Gareth’s All Star Choir as part of the BBC’s Children in Need appeal; he appeared in the sixteenth series of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2016; and has fronted the documentary series Britain By Bike, and Disappearing Britain.
In 2011, BBC Learning launched “Off By Heart Shakespeare”, a school-recital contest for secondary school students. Larry was involved in the project, and took on the role of Jaques from the play As You Like It, delivering the famous speech “All the world’s a stage.”
