Lady Chanelle McCoy stands as one of Ireland’s most accomplished businesswomen, renowned for her entrepreneurial spirit and significant contributions to the pharmaceutical industry.
As the co-founder of Chanelle Medical, a division of the global Chanelle Pharmaceutical Group based in Galway, she has been instrumental in propelling the company to hold over 1,500 medical product licenses across more than 80 countries. Under her leadership, the company has achieved a turnover exceeding €100 million.
In 2015, Chanelle expanded her entrepreneurial ventures by launching Pureis CBD, a healthcare company dedicated to providing high-quality CBD products.
Beyond her business endeavours, Chanelle gained public recognition as a ‘Dragon’ investor on Ireland’s Dragons’ Den television series, where she offered mentorship and investment to budding entrepreneurs.
Her exceptional leadership and influence have been acknowledged through various accolades, including the All-Ireland Business Champion Award in 2018 and being ranked number 23 in the list of ’50 incredible people shaping modern Ireland’.
She is also a huge supporter of women in business and mentoring young entrepreneurs.
Chanelle is married to fellow Great British Speaker Sir AP McCoy.
Born in Loughrea, County Galway, Ireland, Lady Chanelle McCoy was one of five children. She attended Loreto Abbey School in Dublin. Describing herself as a shy middle child, she gained confidence over time, especially during her years at boarding school.
For 18 years, Chanelle McCoy spearheaded Chanelle Medical, a division of the multi-million-pound global enterprise Chanelle Pharmaceuticals. Under her leadership, the company expanded into 96 international markets and secured approval for over 2,000 medical product licenses. She managed a team of over 450 employees and played a pivotal role in driving the company’s turnover beyond €110 million.
While continuing to serve on the board of Chanelle Pharmaceuticals, Chanelle co-founded Chanelle McCoy Health, an R&D-driven pharmaceutical company dedicated to pioneering innovation in healthcare.
After years of extensive research and significant investment in clinical studies, she launched Pureis CBD – the first food supplement of its kind to be backed by clinical trials and to receive approval from UK government regulatory lists.
After becoming aware of the misleading and poor-quality CBD products on the market, Chanelle resolved to develop a safe, certified product for the consumer. The rest is Pureis® history.

Chanelle is no stranger to awards. In 2018, she received the All Ireland Business Champion Award and in her time at the realm, Chanelle Medical received the Life Science Award at the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Awards 2017, Exporter of the Year 2016, Life Sciences Exporter of the Year 2016, Export Innovation of the Year 2016, Winner of ‘Project of the Year’ at the Pharma Industry Awards 2016 and the Ulster Bank Business Achievers Award 2015.
