Juan Verde is a globally recognised strategist and sustainability advocate, former advisor to President Obama and President Biden, and keynote speaker.
During President Obama’s administration, Juan held the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasia in the U.S Department of Commerce. Other influential figures he has worked with include Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, and Al Gore.
He has most recently launched his “Profit Means Planet” collection of high-impact keynote speeches on corporate climate, geopolitics, resilience, and leading through disruption. His speaking duties have taken him to clients including the World Economic Forum and Harvard Kennedy School.

With an illustrious career spanning over three decades, he has served as chairman of various boards, is a dedicated philanthropist, a celebrated corporate strategist and a visionary global leader.
In the political sphere, Juan has supported various candidates, including Obama, Clinton, and the recent Biden-Harris presidential campaign, as an advisor. For three years in the mid-late 90s, he worked for the Minority Business Development Agency at the U.S Department of Commerce as a trade consultant.

Juan is a member of the Board of Directors of Hispasat, a leading satellite communications operator in Latin America, Portugal, and Spain, and of the Advisory Board of Airbus. He has also worked with global governments, presidents, governors, and mayors across the U.S, Lithuania, and Gibraltar.
Recognised as “one of the 100 most influential Hispanic leaders in the fight against climate change”, Juan has collaborated with former Vice President Al Gore to establish and lead Gore’s foundation Climate Reality Project in Argentina and Spain.
He is currently the founder and president of Advanced Leadership Foundation, an international not-for-profit committed to the training of the next generation of green global leaders. He is also the founder and president of Alamo Solutions, an international consulting firm specialising in market expansion, clean tech investments, and sustainable business.
He is a passionate advocate for climate change action in the form of a transition to a ‘green economy’, and he has participated in the UN Climate Conferences COP25 and COP26. He is also an advocate for the promotion of the business and policy interests of the Latino community in the United States.
In 2013, he published his book Soñar Es Poder, which tells the story of his journey from a small town in the Canary Islands to Washington D.C and the White House.
He has been elected to the Alumni Board of Directors at Harvard University’s Kenny School of Government, was decorated as a Knight by the Sovereign Order of the Ecumenical Knights of Rhodes and Malta, and even had his work recognised by the late Pope Francis.
