Janine Harouni is an American-born, UK-based stand-up comedian and actress.
With over 826,000 social media followers and more than 150 million views of her stand-up online, Janine won the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year in 2018, and the BBC New Comedy Award in 2019.
Her debut on BBC’s Live at the Apollo became one of the most watched in the show’s history, amassing over 30 million views. She has performed not only in the UK but also in Dubai, India, LA, and New York.
Janine Harouni’s debut show ‘Stand Up With Janine Harouni (Please Remain Seated)’ played at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019, earning her a nomination for the Best Newcomer Award at that year’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards.

She returned to Edinburgh in 2023, performing ‘Man’oushe’ while she was heavily pregnant, earning a nomination for the main Edinburgh Comedy Award.
Her most recent show, This is What You Waited For, premiered at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, before transferring to a two-week run at London’s Soho Theatre and launching an international tour across UK, Europe, and North America.
As well as being a popular comedian, Janine is a trained actress, and has starred in TV shows such as Patrick Melrose (2018), Modern Horror Stories (2018), Buffering (2021-23), Avoidance (2022), and Bob’s Burgers (2024). She has also starred in films including A Viewfinder (2014), Colette (2018), The Batman (2022), The People We Hate at the Wedding (2022), and Thin Skinned (2023).
