Janet Street-Porter joined LBC as a presenter and creative producer of shows such as Saturday Night People and Twentieth Century Box. She then moved to Chanell 4 as editor of the hugely influential Network 7 programme. She went on to work at the BBC to help create programmes for young people, overseeing some of the most beloved programming of the era, including The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and Full Wax With Ruby Wax.

Janet then set up her own production company, founded L!VE TV and became a familiar face on Have I Got News For You, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Question Time, Countdown, and Celebrity MasterChef.

Her most famous television credit is on Loose Women, a show she has presented for over 1,000 episodes, interviewing everyone from Prime Ministers to soap stars.

She has also presented factual series for major television channels on a wide range of subjects including contemporary British art, the royal family, walking and architecture.

She is a popular guest on podcasts, including Rylan: How to Be a Man alongside Rylan Clark, and Talk Art alongside actor Russell Tovey and gallerist Robert Diament.

Whilst she initially studied architecture, she went straight into a journalism career, working as a columnist and fashion editor for The Daily Mail. She is also the former editor of The Independent on Sunday, and fashion editor of The Evening Standard.

She has also written columns for include the Independent, the MailOnline and the i newspaper, and she has previously won the Newspaper Columnist of the Year accolade.

A passionate rambler, Janet became President of the Ramblers’ Association from 1994-1996. In 1998, she walked across Britain from Dungeness in Kent to Conwy in Wales for the TV series Coast to Coast. She also walked from Edinburgh to London in a straight Line in 1998 for a television show and her book, As the Crow Flies.
