Jan Ravens studied drama in Cambridge, and was the first female president of Cambridge University Footlights Club, whose alumni include John Cleese, Eric Idle, Germaine Greer, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson, David Mitchell, Olivia Colman, Sue Perkins, Mel Giedroyc, Richard Ayoade, and David Baddiel.

Jen achieved rave reviews and broke box office records with her solo show ‘Difficult Woman’, followed by a sell-out tour with Rory Bremner. She is currently in development for a new comedy drama series.

Jan is one of the UK’s most accomplished impressionists, combining sharp observation with brilliant vocal mimicry to entertain audiences. She specialises in impressions of high-profile political and media figures, including Theresa May, Nicola Sturgeon, Liz Truss, Angela Merkel, Hillary Clinton, Ann Widdecombe, Fiona Bruce, Anne Robinson, Sandi Toksvig, Gillian McKeith, and Nigella Lawson.

She is a regular contributor across BBC Radio 4, appearing on shows such as Just a Minute and I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue, and on current affairs shows including Broadcasting House, The Week in Westminster, and Today.

As an actress, she has appeared in many radio 4 dramas and comedies including The Charles Paris Mysteries, Alexei Sayle’s The Absence of Normal, and Jo Brand’s spoof show V.I.P R.I.P, and television shows such as Skins, The Grimleys, and Midsomer Murders. She is also an experienced stage actress, starring in The Relapse, Twelfth Night, Tom Jones, and Talking Heads.
