Jimmy Anderson

Jimmy Anderson OBE is a monumental figure in English cricket. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest bowlers in the sport’s history and holds the record for the most wickets taken by an English fast bowler in Test cricket.

His professional debut came at the age of 19 with Lancashire County Cricket Club, quickly showcasing his prowess as a fast bowler. His international debut for England followed shortly after, marking the beginning of a remarkable career.

Over 21 years, Jimmy became the highest wicket-taker among fast bowlers in Test cricket history, amassing 704 wickets in 188 matches at an average of 26.45. He remains the third highest wicket taker across the board, behind Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan.

His mastery of swing bowling, particularly under English conditions, made him a formidable opponent for batsmen worldwide.

Jimmy has been a regular on the radio and TV, appearing on Sky TV, BBC TV and Radio. He has also established himself as an engaging speaker.
