Hayley McQueen is one of the UK’s most distinguished sports broadcasters. A Manchester-born journalist, she began her media journey working behind the scenes as a runner and production assistant before becoming a reporter-producer for Middlesbrough FC TV.
Her talent and tenacity led her to Sky Sports News, where she rose through the ranks to become a lead anchor and one of the few female broadcasters to regularly front live football coverage across major competitions, including the Premier League and FA Cup.
Beyond broadcasting, she is frequently booked as a speaker and host by organisations such as the FA, LMA, Alzheimer’s UK, Samsung, and Barclays, trusted to moderate fireside chats, present awards, and lead dynamic Q&A sessions.
Hayley McQueen was headhunted by Sky Sports News from Middlesbrough FC TV, and has also presented for Fox Sports and MUTV, where she anchored live build-up shows and interviewed legends such as Sir Alex Ferguson. She has also reported from global sporting events across multiple continents.
She then joined Al Jazeera Sports, presenting through the 2010 World Cup tournament, watched by over 100 million viewers. Later the same year she returned to Sky Sports and launched Sky Sports News in HD.

Off-screen, Hayley is deeply active in charitable and advocacy work. She champions brain health in sport, an issue personally meaningful given her family’s legacy. Her father, former footballer Gordon McQueen was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia in 2021, a diagnosis that was likely caused by “repetitive head impacts sustained by heading the ball while playing football”.
She joined the board of Football For Peace, a global organisation that aims to unite people within the community. She is also the ambassador for sporting charities including SportsAid and the Football Foundation.
She also supports campaigns aligned with diversity, inclusion, and sport-for-good initiatives. She brings a powerful blend of broadcasting excellence, journalistic integrity, and engaging, thoughtful live presenting.
Thanks to her years of experience, Hayley is a well-respected sports speaker. As a woman in a male-dominated industry, she is sought-after to appear at gender and sporting events, with previous clients including the FA, Samsung, PayPal, Royal Mail, Cadbury, Barclays, UEFA, and Honda.
