Emma Finucane MBE

Emma Finucane is a record-holding Welsh and Team GB track cyclist, who has won three Olympic medals and two World Championship titles.

By the age of 21, Emma had already etched her name into the annals of cycling history. In 2023, she clinched the UCI World Championship title in the women’s individual sprint, becoming the first British woman in a decade to achieve this feat.

Her momentum continued into 2024, where she not only defended her world title but also delivered a stellar performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics. There, she secured a gold medal in the team sprint and two individual bronze medals, making her the first British woman since 1964 to earn three medals in a single Olympic Games.

Emma was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2025 New Year Honours for services to cycling. In 2024, she was named BBC Cymru Wales Sports Personality of the Year for a second successive year.
