Ellie Taylor is a comedian, presenter, actor, and writer who works across television, radio, social media, and live work.
She is best known for her role as Sassy in all three series of the smash hit, multi-award-winning Apple TV series Ted Lasso. She can be seen hosting Bake Off: The Professionals, and has also presented The Great Pottery Throwdown, Let’s Make a Love Scene, You Won’t Believe This, and Netflix’s Cheat.
In 2022 she appeared on the 20th series of Strictly Come Dancing alongside professional dancer Johannes Radebe, finishing in 7th place.
Once called “charismatic, personable, and bright” by Chortle, Ellie was one of five UK comedians to be featured in Netflix’s Comedians of the World series. Ellie Taylor’s first foray into the media world was when she was scouted by a model agency, going on to star in campaigns for Asda, Matalan, and Pantene. Soon deciding she didn’t want to pursue a career as a model, she began doing stand-up comedy.
Her big breakthrough came in 2011 on the ITV series Show Me the Funny, with her debut show ‘Elliementary’ coming in 2014. She has gone on to tour a number of shows, including ‘Infidelliety’, ‘This Guy’, ‘Cravings’, ‘Don’t Got This’, and ‘Palavering!’.
Since then, she has become a go-to comedian for TV panel and comedy shows, including Mock the Week, The Mash Report, Live at the Apollo, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Pointless Celebrities, Insert Name Here, QI, and The Last Leg.
Ellie is also a popular TV and radio presenter, having hosted Snog Marry Avoid, Pointless, The Great Pottery Throwdown, and the GBBO spin-off Bake Off: The Professionals. She has hosted shows on Fubar Radio, London’s Heart Radio breakfast show, and Heart FM, and has a podcast Ellie and Anna Have Issues alongside Anna Whitehouse.
As an actress, she has starred in The Lodge, Plebs, Knuckles, Belated, Brotherhood, Family Tree, and Sicknote.
In 2021, Ellie published her debut book My Child and Other Mistakes: How to Ruin Your Life in the Best Way Possible, a hilarious motherhood memoir that made it on the Sunday Times bestsellers list.
