Eleanor Mills is a journalist, bestselling author, and founder of media platform Noon.
She is the UK’s premier expert on ‘midlife’. She founded Noon.org.uk and 50k+ community of midlifers, to change the narrative around ageing; after all, in the 100 year life, 50 is only halfway through.
Building on this mission, her first book on midlife, Much More to Come: Lessons on the Mayhem and Magnificence of Midlife was published in 2024 and became a Sunday Times bestseller.
Prior to setting up Noon, Eleanor was Editorial Director of The Sunday Times and Editor of The Sunday Times Magazine. Know as one of the most high-profile journalists of her generation and a top-flight interviewer, she has interrogated everyone from Mikhail Gorbachev to Sheryl Sandberg, David Cameron to One Direction, and Theresa May to the Dalai Lama.
She still writes regularly for UK newspapers and magazines and appears as a broadcaster on TV and radio.
Eleanor Mills is the founder of Noon, an award-winning editor, writer, and broadcaster.
Noon believes midlife is the age of opportunity. Eleanor set it up to help women in midlife and beyond through pinch points and inspire them to embrace their next act. It was inspired by something that happened during the first lockdown.
“I went to meet an old friend. “How are you?” she said. I tried to put a brave face on it. the truth was I was terrible. I’d left the organisation I’d worked for for 23 years, had been knocked out by Covid and was surprised by how sad I felt about my girls leaving the nest. I felt like I’d been pushed off a roof, falling with nothing to hang on to, and overwhelmingly sad….In the weeks and months that followed, I felt I had been put back together by a loving community….Our culture gives women a series of hoops to jump through, but at around fifty that map stops. I knew I had so much more to give, that I was at a new beginning, not the end. Noon was born out of my desire to help women find a new path through midlife and beyond, to change the narrative.”
