Dr Emeka Okorocha is a Medical Doctor, TikTok influencer and star of BBC’s Junior Doctors: Blood, Sweat and Tears, as well as a published author. He is passionate about improving health and exercise both nationally and globally.
Following his appearance on the BBC 3 programme following Young Doctors, Dr Emeka went on to become a regular contributor on health matters on national and international TV, radio and .
During the pandemic, Dr Emeka’s popularity grew further, as he documented his experiences as well as became a go-to source for health care advice. He now has 2.3 million likes and nearly a quarter of a million followers on TikTok with 87K+ Instagram followers.
In 2020 he was named as one of the top ten TikTok Educators in 2020.
While still working as a frontline doctor in Accident & Emergency, Dr Emeka Okorocha still finds time to present a first aid series for school children on BBC Teach, be the face of a new first aid online campaign with The Red Cross and present a new BBC Online science series.
Dr Emeka whose unique and vibrant style combines with his passion to help people improve their wellbeing is the perfect person to talk to all ages about matters of health.
Dr Emeka grew up in Kent and is the son of Nigerian parents. He comes from a family of medics and from a very young age knew he wanted to be a doctor. He studied medicine at the University of East Anglia.
Emeka is a Prince and third in line to the throne in his province in Nigeria, where his paternal grandfather was King. Â
Outside of work, Emeka is sports mad – when he’s not at the gym or out on a run, he can be found shooting hoops on the basketball court.Â

Doctor Emeka, who is a paid TikTok Creator, fronted the nationwide campaign It Starts on TikTok – appearing on billboards across Britain and on prime time TV and produces a variety of inspiring, educational and entertaining TikToks, including topics like, mental health issues, well-being, myth-busting, and Black Lives Matter.
Since first appearing on BBC in the Young Doctors: Blood, Sweat and Tears programme in 2017, Dr Emeka has featured across the media in the UK and beyond, including on This Morning, the BBC, ​BBC Worldwide, ITV, CNN, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky and Nigerian TV, as well as on radio on BBC Radio London, Radio 1 and BBC Five Live.Â
