She is a trustee of the Thomas Wall Trust and a member of the Disabled Doctors Network.

What if the greatest barrier to high performance isn’t capability – but the culture people work in? Every organisation wants people who perform at their best. Yet too often, hidden barriers such as poor psychological safety, identity threat and bias prevent talented individuals from contributing their full potential. The result is lower engagement, reduced innovation, poorer wellbeing and missed opportunities, for individuals, teams and organisations.
Dr Amrita Sen Mukherjee helps organisations change that.
Amrita’s work is shaped by more than 15 years of clinical experience and internationally recognised research into post-traumatic growth, alongside her own lived experience of acquiring an invisible disability. Rather than defining her, this experience transformed the way she understands human performance, identity and leadership, giving her a distinctive perspective on how organisations unlock potential by creating environments where people feel psychologically safe enough to perform at their best.
Her TEDx talk and award-winning research have established her as a recognised voice on identity, psychological safety, belonging and sustainable performance. She has advised and spoken for organisations including EY, DHL, Generali, DAC Beachcroft, NHBC and NHS organisations, and has been invited to speak at the House of Lords, the General Medical Council (GMC), international academic conferences and private equity leadership events.

Organisations work with Amrita because she moves conversations beyond wellbeing initiatives to address the cultural conditions that drive long-term performance. Her keynotes help leaders build trust, improve collaboration, navigate change with confidence and create workplaces where people feel seen, valued and able to do their best work. Audiences leave with practical, evidence-based strategies they can apply immediately – creating lasting impact long after the event has finished.
Whether speaking to senior leaders, global organisations or professional audiences, Amrita’s message is simple: when people feel safe enough to contribute fully, individuals flourish, teams perform better and organisations become stronger.
Amrita offers keynotes, webinars, workshops, Q&As, fireside chats, event hosting, panel discussions, and facilitated conversations. She is always happy to create something bespoke around a client’s audience, sector, and particular challenges.
She is particularly popular at health events marking the likes of “international week of happiness”, “migraine awareness week”, and “international day of persons with disabilities”.

As the Head of an all-through (3-18) independent school of more than 1000 pupils, I would thoroughly recommend the services of Dr. Amrita. We had been looking for support and supervision for our pastoral and safeguarding teams for some time; it’s demanding and intense work that they do. Dr. Amrita was very open and responsive to our particular requirements. The different sessions that she ran (secondary trauma and coaching) were greatly appreciated by our staff and, in addition to practical strategies to take forward, she gave us all much to reflect upon, both as individuals and as a team. I am delighted that we managed to secure Dr Amrita’s services and look forward to working with her in the future.
