Dominic Frisby is a comedian, after-dinner and conference financial speaker. Bringing a unique edge to the speaking circuit, he is both funny and intelligent.
Dominic has written countless economic texts and books, as well as acclaimed comedic TV programmes and films, as well as acting and presenting. There’s not much he can’t do.
Originally a popular comedian, Dominic Frisby had a burning interest to peruse the worlds of economics and finance.
To start with, he created The Virgin Podcast on the subject to he could meet and talk to economics, financiers, and CEOs such as Innocent Drinks founder Richard Reed, BrewDog co-founder James Watt, and Séraphine founder Cecile Reinaud.
He suddenly found himself in regular contact with these people, Moneyweek magazine gave him a column, and he continues to write for them as their gold and commodities commentator.
Dominic also works as a private investor for junior mining companies and is a writer of bestselling financial books. He also co-wrote and narrated the internet documentary The Four Horseman, about the global financial crisis.

Dominic began performing stand-up in 1997 with a musical comedy act called The Upper-Class Rap and the rest, as they say, is history. He has since performed at Up the Creek in Greenwich, won the Ha Bloody Ha New Act of the Year Competition in 1998 against Hal Cruttenden and Mickey Flanagan, and was runner-up at the 1999 Leicester Mercury New Comedian of the Year.
Dominic is the resident MC at London’s oldest comedy venue, Downstairs at The King’s Head, and has performed many stand-up and character comedy shows around the country.
He has performed many shows at Edinburgh Festival Fringe alongside fellow comedians Robin Ince, Howard Read, and Miranda Hart. His shows include The Big Value Comedy Show, Asprey and Frisby, Let’s Talk About Tax, The Upper-Class Rapper, The Shadowpunk Revolution, Gold: A Lecture with Funny Bits, and Shaping the Earth.
As an actor, he has appeared in The Inbetweeners movie, the TG4 drama Bású na gCarad (The Friends’ Execution), Sam’s Game (alongside Ed Byrne), Mile High Club, Murder in Suburbia, Roary the Racing Car, Scrooby Trevitchick, Simon Evans Goes to Market, Simon Evans is Right, The Now Show, Unsafe Space, and Grooming Gangs Cover Up.
He has presented the movie review show Sky Comedy Close-Up and Dave’s The Money Pit alongside Jason Manford.
