Corey takes pride in sharing the lessons learnt from his life experience on every occasion, whether on television in Panorama (2021) and ITV News (2023), or with young people in his community.

Corey has shared his inspirational message to over 6,000 young people at more than 30 institutes of education. He is also a popular speaker for after-dinner events, such as the Bristol Sport Corporate Gala, and the annual Community of Purpose Awards.

Corey Samuels | Keynotes

Journeying to Our Goals: The Power of Visualisation

During this insightful keynote, Corey talks about how he went from a Bristol Flyers fanatic as a child to a key piece of the team’s recent success. He provides audiences with a chance to learn the governing principles of his long-term success and how he stays motivated to work hard after two decades in his sport.

Becoming the Star in Your Role: Contribute to Any Team

According to the CIPD, millions of employees claim not to be in their ideal position in their career that they aspire to. Surprisingly to some, the feeling of role-dysphoria is an issue far too common within professional sports. This talk answers questions like: how do I contribute to team success in any role? How do I remain resilient during the turbulence of my career? How can I be productive in unfamiliar territories?

Thriving Under Pressure and Stress Management

When the stakes are high, managing pressures to perform from colleagues, coaches, leaders, and even yourself can have a substantial impact on mental health – especially when life outside of work is added to the equation. Corey provides practical stress-management techniques that provide mental stability throughout the turbulence of high-pressure careers.

Befriending the Imposter

Imposter syndrome is something many of us have experienced at one point or another. Corey tells audiences how he overcame his experience after being placed in the position of his idols, and grappling with the responsibility of leading teammates, exceeding his own expertise and experience.

Bridging the Gap

Popular among clients within the education sector, Corey recounts his turbulent journey through education, and the challenges that came along with pursuing excellence in other areas of his life. The key takeaway from this talk is what Corey did to bridge the mental gap between poor behaviour and sub-par school performance – linked to a total disinterest in academia – and graduating from University with a First-Class Degree he genuinely enjoyed.

Corey’s dynamic keynote, delivered in Central London on the 30th of June, was nothing short of electrifying. As a professional basketball player, he brought the same passion and energy to the stage that he displays on the court. His story of perseverance and dedication resonated deeply, inspiring us to push beyond our limits and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth.

Corey’s insights into teamwork, resilience, and maintaining a winning mindset were both profound and practical. He left us all motivated and empowered to pursue our dreams with the same drive and determination that have defined his remarkable career. I highly recommend Corey as a speaker for anyone looking to inspire and energise their audience as they embrace the power of visualisation.

It was great to have former SGS Academy student and current Bristol Flyers Pro Corey Samuels delivering two educational, motivational and actionable talks in our academy preseason last week. A great former student and an engaging speaker. No one better for us to learn from!
SGS College

Another great education session with @bristolflyers player Corey Samuels sharing his individual basketball journeys through the Flyers junior programme and the steps they took to become professional players. Learning how to navigate the ups and downs, balance basketball with study and make the most out of all your opportunities.

We have had several sports people in to do assemblies in the past and they have always been informative, but watching Corey speak to the whole school was more than just informative!! Не held the student’s attention, gave them an insight into how busy his life was and how dedicated he had to be to do both sport and study and also made them feel like they could achieve anything if they set their minds to it!! He also very kindly stood for about 40 minutes, signing autographs for pretty much every child in the school! The whole school was buzzing for the rest of the day!!
