Christoper Webber grew up in St Helens, a small industrial town in the north of England, once home to Pilkington’s Glass and Beechams. By the 1970s and 80s, however, the town’s industries were declining, unemployment was high, and many young people, including Chris, dreamed of leaving to find success elsewhere. Sport became his passion. Nestled between Liverpool and Manchester, St Helens offered a hub of rugby, football, cricket, and more. At 18, Chris achieved his dream of signing a professional rugby league contract with Wigan. But three years later, his contract was cancelled, leaving him uncertain about his future.
A chance realisation in a pub set him on a new path: if he could sell, there would always be opportunity. Chris joined a pharmaceutical company as a sales representative and quickly excelled, rising to leadership roles across brands, teams, and Europe. Known for his ability to connect with people and influence outcomes, he built strong partnerships, negotiated complex agreements, and earned respect even in the most challenging situations.
In 2014, Christopher Webber was invited to teach negotiation skills globally, helping clients overcome significant business challenges. This led him to found Foxleigh Commercial Performance in 2018, where he continues his mission: helping individuals and teams succeed when they believe they cannot. Foxleigh specialises in creating confident commercial communicators, delivering negotiation excellence, building effective meeting experiences, and embedding high-performance cultures.
Christopher Webber’s philosophy is simple: anyone can succeed when times are easy. True commercial advantage comes from thriving in difficult moments and with demanding stakeholders. He equips teams to understand, connect with, and influence challenging customers, turning obstacles into opportunities and delivering results that were once thought unattainable.
Today, Christopher Webber works across pharmaceuticals, healthcare, manufacturing, FMCG, and transport industries. He is recognised as a thought leader and author, in demand globally to transform commercial performance. Through Foxleigh, he empowers clients to achieve “the special”—success in the toughest business environments.
“You are a gifted story-teller Chris. The book is bursting with experiences and reflections that will resonate with every one who has ever led a team, wrestled with a challenging dilemma or stayed awake wondering how to handle a difficult colleague. There is wisdom and insight aplenty here”.
— Tim Kemp, Professor of Leadership Rome Business School
An intense and challenging experience that has ultimately proved to be highly enlightening and rewarding. I don’t think we could possibly have learned any more about negotiation skills during the 3 days we had available. Chris is a talented and credible trainer and coach who is able to bring a story to life, effectively engaging a group of varied personalities and experience levels. I have learnt much about my own negotiation style and honed in on many skills and techniques that I can apply in both my professional and personal life.
Easily the best training course I’ve done. I didn’t just learn from the agenda – I learnt from the examples and coaching, which has made me retain and use the skills gained. Yes it is an intense course, but I would eagerly do it again. Chris is also a fantastic teacher and a genuinely engaging person!
Excellent course and filled with relevant content. Extremely well constructed and allows time for discussions and feedback. Active participation is a must and it allowed me to feel safe and show off my presention skills with love feedback without the fear of embarrassment. The facilitator Chris and his team were brilliant. Made the course fun and constructive- loved the course even though they were very long days. Thanks again.
