Anxiety’s role is to keep you safe, but sometimes its perception of safety goes wrong, leading to the fight or flight instinct being triggered. This can then negatively affect your whole life. And it is this that Caroline – known as the Anxiety Alchemist – can help with. She helps clients to understand how their risk radar is working and how to calibrate it.
Caroline transforms workplace cultures by showing organisations how to nurture environments where team members thrive under reduced stress. In turn, businesses discover that supporting employee wellbeing naturally leads to enhanced productivity and stronger results.
She provides a range of anxiety-focused courses, including Stress Reducing Tips for Control Freaks, Autumn Blues, Teenage Anxiety, Hypnotherapy, and Overcoming Anxiety and Phobias.
In 2016, Caroline published her first book Anxiety Alchemy. In the book, she uses tried and tested techniques to take readers through a process that will lead to a transformation from anxiety and mental health issues into confidence.
She has appeared on a range of podcasts, touching on topics including:

I have just seen Caroline speaking on how to manage anxiety, but “experienced” is a much better description. Highly engaging from the start and throughout, her deep knowledge and understanding from working with individuals at all levels of anxiety make her a brilliant choice for a speaker on how to understand and get control of anxiety in whatever form it might take.
Her use of easily understandable and memorable metaphors made a lasting impact – and everyone in the audience left positively impacted and with immediately useful takeaways. I particularly liked the way she explained how we can distinguish between excitement and anxiety and identify practical steps forward to overcome apparent barriers.
Very easy to listen to with powerful, easy-to-apply messages, Caroline is a great choice of speaker on practical ways of how to use anxiety in a positive way that supports growth.

Caroline navigates a difficult subject with consummate ease, professionalism… and a style that uses great humour and compassion. Having said that, there is no shying away from dealing with the effects of “not” dealing with anxiety in the workplace, or in life.
A superb session that has enabled me to way better understand that weird internal chatter.
David Hyner, Motivational Speaker
If you’ve ever wanted to see a speaker cartwheel onto a stage, Caroline is the one to watch. Talk about making an entrance. Talk about harnessing your nerves to be able to deliver an amazing presentation to your audience. Caroline tells us why anxiety is not the enemy that so many people think it is. She tells us how to train it, like a dog, to turn it into a lifelong, loyal friend. She doesn’t just tell her audiences how to handle their nerves – she leads by example. A very inspiring speaker.

Caroline’s talk at the PSASA 2025 Convention kicked off with a bang & had the audience glued to her from start to end! A truly captivating speaker with a clear and well-developed body of work, framework and delivery style. The metaphor of anxiety as a dog that can be trained will stick with me for a very long time – it was practical and well articulated for the global audience in the room! Fantastic work, Caroline!

Caroline Cavanagh’s work on anxiety – specifically, her keynote “Anxiety is a Good Thing When You Give it Leadership” – contains game-changing perspectives. I loved every moment of listening to and watching the interactive talk she presented at our PSASA Convention in South Africa this past weekend. The nugget about anxiety being a valuable asset really resonated with me, because it is what created and has sustained my 20-year-old business, a.k.a the gift that keeps on giving. I value having been empowered by Caroline’s unique insights to think about anxiety in a positive way.

I was fortunate to attend a session where Caroline spoke at an event in South Africa. I loved her ability to take a complex subject like anxiety and simplify it with clever analogies.
It transformed my view of the condition and left me with a clear understanding of the positive value of anxiety when viewed as it should be. She topped it off with real-life, practical takeaways, making her presentation not only interesting and memorable but also practical.
Her skills in helping people understand the way our minds work have had a lasting and positive impact on me, and I’m sure will have on many others of all ages. Highly recommend!

Caroline presents herself as a highly professional speaker. She supported our event with the creation of a promotional video of her talk and interacted with social media in advance. On the day she engaged with the audience, delivering a highly interactive talk on Imposter Syndrome on a warm afternoon in a crowded room – after lunch!
Her training in the art of speaking is evident, and she is also a subject specialist in her field. The combination leads me to confidently recommend her to any organisation seeking to enhance their bottom line through supporting their staff or members in achieving greater mental resilience.

I’ve heard Caroline speak a couple of times recently and also been a part of a more interactive session she led. Each time the sessions have been both impactful and insightful. I think I had one of those little ‘ah-ha’ moments in each one. Caroline always comes across super professionally, but personable at the same time, which is a great mix. Would highly recommend Caroline as both a speaker and an impactful person to work with.
