Carlton Cole’s playing career started as a trainee with Chelsea, before signing a professional contract in 2000. He made his debut in 2002 in a match against Everton, and her went on to make 25 appearances for the team. Whilst at Chelsea, he was loaned out to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic, and Aston Villa.

After staying with Chelsea for six years, Carlton signed to West Ham United in 2006. He was with them until 2013, when he announced he would be leaving the club having played for seven seasons. However, just a few months later, he was approached by the club about whether he would return to them. He then stayed with them until 2015. Throughout this almost decade with the club he made 256 appearances and scored 55 goals.

He would go on to sign for Scottish club Celtic in 2015, a deal that lasted just eight months. The following year, he signed for the United Soccer League club Sacramento Republic, but after just four appearances, he returned to the UK. His final signing came in 2017 with Indonesian club Persib Bandung in the Liga 1, and he announced his retirement in March 2018.

Carlton made a number of international appearances, representing England in the under-19, under-20, and under-21 teams, as well as the national senior team.

Since retiring as a professional footballer, Carlton has become a sporting coach, providing support to the under-18 coaches at West Ham United. He is also a popular presenter, bringing his knowledge and experience to the fans. He is a regular guest on TalkSPORT, and has been a pundit for BBC, BT Sports, and Sky Sports.

Carlton has also worked commercially with brands such as Carling, Giff Haff, Nivea, and Versus.
