Australia-based Carl Donnelly is a multi-award-winning stand-up comedian, podcaster, and actor whose sharp observational comedy and warm stagecraft make him a reliable choice for corporate events and live moderation.
Nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe, and for the main Edinburgh Comedy Award 2013, he combines festival pedigree with broadcast credibility.
He has appeared on programmes such as Mock the Week, and Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, and is the host of the hit podcast, Two Vegan Idiots.
Carl Donnelly is a veteran of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, performing 11 solo shows and being nominated for a number of festival awards.
He became a vegan in 2013, has become an ambassador for Veganuary, and has talked about veganism extensively in his comedy.
As well as his career on stage, Carl has appeared on radio in BBC Radio 4’s 28 Acts in 28 Minutes, LBC’s Comedy Cabaret, BBC Radio 5 Live’s Fighting Talk, and Tim Shaw’s The Asylum on Kerrang! Radio.
A familiar voice on podcasts, Carl co-hosted the Carl Donnelly and Chris Martin Comedy Podcast from 2008 to 2018, which found itself on the Guardian’s list of the top 10 comedy podcasts of the year. They also hosted the spinoff podcast, Babysitting Trevor. In 2020, he started hosting The Keith Cheggars Podcast about his upcoming child, as well as the A Comedian Called Carl Drinking Coffee podcast. He now co-hosts Two Vegan Idiots with Carl Donnelly and Julian Deane.
