Alex Jones is one of the UK’s best-loved presenters. She is co-host of the BBC’s flagship show The One Show (2010-present), presenting with the likes of Matt Baker, Ronan Keating, and Roman Kemp.
She has fronted several programmes for the BBC, such as Let’s Dance For Comic/Sport Relief (2011-13), and Shop Well For Less (2016-18), as well as covering the 2022 Invictus Games with JJ Chalmers, and the royal weddings of William and Catherine, and Harry and Meghan.
Alongside her television work, she has published the bestselling baby book Winging It (2018), based on her own personal experiences of fertility, pregnancy, and motherhood.
Alex is a Fellow of Aberystwyth University, and a member of the Gorsedd of the Bards in honour of her contribution to Welsh culture.
Alex Jones’ career started as a television researcher, but it was her personable nature and instantly likeable personality that saw her swap sides and appear in front of the camera. Since she took on the helm at The One Show in 2010, Alex has presented shows including Live From Edinburgh Castle (2014), Tumble (2014), Close Calls: On Camera (2015), Shop Well For Less (2016), Make Wales Happy (2018), Making Babies (2023), Saturday Kitchen (2023), and Reunion Hotel (2023). She also presented The Secrets In My Family, a documentary series on UKTV’s W Channel.
Alex is a popular television personality, and has appeared as a guest on much loved shows such as Pointless Celebrities (2011), Loose Women (2011; 2014; 2018), Michael McIntyre’s Big Show (2016), Mary Berry’s Christmas Party (2017), Richard Osman’s House of Games (2020), The Wheel (2023; 2024), and Celebrity Catchphrase (2025). She even had a cameo appearance in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie (2016).

Alex has been open and honest about her life, particularly about her fertility journey, and fronted the critically acclaimed documentary Alex Jones: Fertility and Me (2018). In 2018 she published her book Winging It, a ‘support group for parents who are having children in their thirties and forties’.
Alex has fronted a number of live event coverage, including the Invictus Games, royal weddings, Glastonbury, and the Jubilee Celebration.
In 2011 she competed on Strictly Come Dancing, partnering with James Jordan; together they finished in fifth place.
CHARITY
Alex uses her public profile to draw attention to a number of charitable organisations. In 2014, she took part in the sport relief appeal by being dragged up the 1,200ft Moonlight Buttress in Zion National Park, raising over £1million. She took part in her second Sport Relief appeal in 2016, where along with Suzi Perry, Angellica Bell, Doon Mackichan, Ore Oduba, and Hal Cruttenden, she sailed 1,000 miles from Belfast to London, again raising over £1million.
