AJ Odudu is best known for the The Voice & The Voice Kids UK, having been announced in 2019 as their Backstage Reporter, she’s back again for the 2020 series showcasing a new bunch of rising superstars.
She embarked on one of the toughest challenges of her life filming, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins on Channel 4. Which see’s 12 famous faces undergo an intensive course to see if they’ve got what it takes to pass a unique version of SAS Selection.
She can also be seen on ITV’s Lorraine reporting on Showbiz, BBC’s The One Show and won the most recent Celebrity Come Dine With Me, as well being part of the Celebrity First Dates Hotel line up for SU2C on Channel 4.
When AJ’s not reporting on the entertainment world she’s shining a light on cultural events around the world; she experienced the UTMB, a gruelling 107km ultramarathon in Mont Blanc, and for a slightly different race, presented the famous Redbull Soapbox Race in Brazil and Lithuania.
AJ’s first major documentary, Manhunting With My Mum aired in 2018 on Channel 4 and to critical acclaim – the show’s success led to rave reviews and trended worldwide on Twitter. The do cumentary sees AJ delve into a serious subject but with her usual charm and wit. Her endearing relationship with her mother is heart-warming and allowed her to address the issues of marriage and cultural identity.
AJ has also featured on ITV’s This Morning, hosting her own fitness features & presenting competition weeks. AJ is currently part of The Evening Standard’s expert team of fitness Insiders. She cut her teeth presenting live TV shows BBC’s 5:19 and co-hosting the Channel 5 TV show Big Brother’s Bit On The Side alongside Rylan Clark. AJ furthered her live experience on Trending Live on 4Music, where she interviewed the likes of Denzel Washington, Cheryl Cole and Lady Gaga.
Born to Nigerian parents, AJ grew up with her five brothers and two sisters in Blackburn, Lancashire and has a degree in English & Politics. With her distinctive Lancashire accent, AJ is a regular presenter on award winning Podcast series Boys Don’t Cry with Russell Kane. She also co-hosted That Saturday Show on Virgin Radio with Russell. Her love of music has seen her report live from the Isle of Wight Festival alongside Jo Whiley and Zoe Ball for Sky Arts; hosted red carpet coverage at the MOBO Awards for MTV and ITV and fronted coverage of BBC Switch Live from the Hammersmith Apollo for BBC One.
A qualified personal trainer and sports nutritionist, AJ has a huge passion for health and fitness which has led her to not only present fitness features on live TV but run the London Marathon. She has also fronted campaigns for Adidas; New Balance, Women’s Health, Speedo, Smart Water and many more.
She is also the Fitness Ambassador for Superdrug nationwide.
AJ is a L’Oreal Ambassador; she has worked with them on numerous campaigns for over 4 years now, including the L’Oreal Paris True Match campaign in partnership with The Prince’s Trust.
AJ is a well-established live event host and DJ, having spun for Ibiza Rocks, Century Members Club and warmed up for world famous DJ, Oliver Heldens at Sushi Samba. Most recently, she has played for Adidas, New Look, EE Rising Star Party, Women’s Health Fashion night out and for Desperados at Boomtown Festival.
