Adrian Joseph is one of the UK’s leading AI-focussed technology and applied data experts. His specialism lies in merging the world of technology with customer needs in order to rapidly accelerate business value delivery and positive societal change.
With over two decades of experience in AI, analytics, big data, and digital strategy, Adrian has worked for companies including Ford, Google, and BT. Whilst as Chief Data and AI Officer at BT, he led 1,600 experts in advancing their digital capabilities and fostering new data and AI-centric businesses.
He also holds many board positions for private companies, government departments, banks, and hospitals. He is not shy of voluntary roles either, having sat on the Board of Trustees for the Aleto Foundation, been an Expert Community Member for the AI Council UK, and a Member of the Board of Advisors for Business In the Community.
Thanks to his work in technology and diversity, the Financial Times once named Adrian Joseph as the most influential Black, Asian and ethnic minority technology leader in the UK.

Before transitioning into AI full-time, Adrian Joseph worked as a Brand Manager for the Ford Motor Company, consulted for A.T Kearney, and spent a decade at Google, first as Director of Automotive, then as Managing Director for the Google Enterprise EMEA, as Head of Search Advertising and Director of Customer Solutions and Innovation, and finally as the Director of their Enterprise Analytics Services. In 2017 he joined EY, and worked as their Head of Data and Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence.

He currently holds a number of non-executive and board roles including:
– Non-Executive Director of the Direct Line Insurance Group, focussing on data, AI, digital and technology transformation.
– Non-Executive Director of Allwyn Entertainment, supporting the UK National Lottery operator with particular focus on data and AI, digital transformation, and diversity
– Technology Advisory Board Member for NatWest, providing external perspectives on AI, data, and technology
He has also worked for the UK Civil Service for a number of years, supporting the Home Office in developing its AI, data, digital, and diversity strategies; as a Member of the Civil Service People Board advising on leadership development, capability gaps, diversity, and the potential of technology on the future; and as an Expert Member of the UK AI Council.
Since late 2024, Adrian has worked as a Non-Executive Director of the Great Ormond Street Hospital. He supports the trust to unlock the potential of AI and technology to achieve its goal of being the most digitally enabled hospital in the world. He has also sat on their board for AI, culture and diversity.
