Jay Rayner food writer critic speaker at Great British Speakers

Jay is probably best known as the writer and presenter of Dispatches; The Truth About Food Prices which received an audience of over 2 million viewers. Some of his other food-focused investigations include Dispatches; True Cost of Cheap Food and Food: What goes in your Basket? (both for Channel 4, 2009) He is also a familiar face on the BBC’s The One Show where he regularly appears on their 'Foody Friday' segment.

As a food critic, Jay has judged on Masterchef, The Great British Waste Menu and Top Chef Masters in the USA.He is also a regular contributor to the Guardian and the Observer and has articles published in Granta,  Esquire,  GQ, and Cosmopolitan as well as Gourmet and Saveur in America.

On the radio, Jay leads the BBC Radio 4 food panel show, The Kitchen Cabinet and was nominated for two Sony Radio Awards and a Sony Gold award for his contributions to the radio show, Papertalk; a programme that reflects upon the British newspaper industry.

Jay was also nominated for a Mental Health Media award and a Commission for Radical Equality’s Race in the Media award.
