Sir Elton John described her as having ‘one of the most impressive soul signatures he’d heard in 20 years’ and Nile Rodgers said she was one of his ‘favourite new artists in the world’. Tallia Storm's soulful powerhouse vocals make it easy to detect her influences; Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Amy Winehouse and Alicia Keys to the jazz greats like Fitzgerald and Vaughan. The singer/songwriter who was discovered by Sir Elton when she was just 13 years old, has spent the last few years working with music industry heavyweights in LA, Atlanta and London. With her signature vocals and a 510,000 strong Instagram profile, she’s been dubbed as a major teenage influencer, fashion ‘it girl’ and ‘British Singing Sensation’ by New York based Paper Magazine.
Tallia is part of the growing staple of acts who are not repped by a major label. She represents that Gen Z demographic, who are entrepreneurial & independent, thinking globally, not locally, with fierce ambition and originality.
The London based R&B singer/songwriter has even penned 2 novels published by Scholastic. A light-hearted take on her own story, ‘Pop Girl’ is based around a fictional character called ‘Storm Hall’. Tallia was just 13 years old when she handed her demo CD to Sir Elton’s partner David Furnish in a hotel restaurant. Sir Elton called her 24 hours later and invited her to open his UK concert to 17,000 people to great critical acclaim.
Being dressed by some of the biggest high street and luxury brands in the world such as Dior, Gucci and D&G, she lives in an Instagram world that has enabled her to do what she wants and deliver the kind of music she wants!
In 2018 she appeared in E4’s ‘Celeb’s Go Dating’ and E4’s ‘All-Star Driving’ as well as hosting WE Day at Wembley Arena and backstage interviewing the stars of the screen and stage at the Radio 1 Teen Awards.
Music, fashion and television are intertwined in Tallia’s world, a ‘barometer of our cultural identity’, she states. If one thing is for sure, this #storm is just getting started!
