Emma Freud at Great British Speakers

Presenter, Emma Freud has a wide range broadcasting experience, having worked for the BBC, Channel 4 and ITV. On the radio, Emma is a regular on the long-running show, Loose Ends on BBC Radio 4 as well as hosting her own shows on GLR and BBC Radio 1.  

Emma is also a familiar face on many cultural and factual shows including The Media Show and The Big Picture Show. She also presented the popular entertainment show Pillow Talk has also presented awards at the BAFTA’s. 

Off camera, Emma is the script editor for her partner Richard Curtis, having worked his popular titles, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Bridget Jones’ Diary, Notting Hill and Love Actually. She was the second unit director on The Boat that Rocked in 2009. She has also had articles appear in The Guardian, The Daily Mail and the first edition of Eulogy Magazine in 2010.

For years, Emma has worked closely with the National Theatre. She regularly chairs the National Theatre Platforms, which involve her conducting one-to-one interviews with well-known guests before opening questions up to her audience. Previously, Emma has interviewed John Humphrys, Nicolas Hytner and Dara O’Briain. She is also the director of Red Nose Day and a trustee for Comic Relief alongside Curtis.
