Dermot O’Leary is one of the country’s most popular presenters. His works on television and radio have made him a household name. Having begun his career on Channel 4’s T4, Dermot soon went on to present Big Brother’s Little Brother for the same channel. In 2007, Dermot landed the prestigious role of hosting The X Factor live on ITV and has been fronting the show ever since. He has presented live from the Royal Wedding (2011) and co-presented on Comic Relief. He is also a popular awards host, having presented the National Television Awards, BAFTA’s and the Brits.
In 2014, Dermot presented for the Live From Space season on Channel 4. The show featured an interactive, live two-hour broadcast from the International Space Station and Mission Control in Houston as the Space Station completed an orbit of Earth. In 2015, Dermot presented a full-length documentary commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
He has also released a musical memoir, The Soundtrack to My Life that was published by Hodder in 2014.
He is also a familiar voice on the radio, hosting his own Sony Award-winning radio show every Saturday on BBC Radio 2.
Away from presenting entertainment television, Dermot has chaired debates and interviewed party leaders for First Time Voters Question Time (BBC3). He also regularly presents Unicef’s SoccarAid.
